Alongside his work as a composer, he was a professor in Basel and in Freiburg im Breisgau, where his students included numerous important composers such as Wolfgang Rihm, Brian Ferneyhough, Toshio Hosokawa, Kaija Saariaho, and Younghi Pagh-Paan, who later became his wife. ![]() Klaus Huber (*1924 in Bern, †2017 in Perugia) was one of the most important composers of the present day and was awarded numerous prizes, including the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize and the Salzburg Music Prize.
